New Jersey State Fair

The 2025 New Jersey State Fair and Sussex County Farm & Horse Show returns to the Sussex County Fairgrounds from Friday, August 1st, through Saturday, August 9th for nine big days of family fun!

The official State Fair of New Jersey, this long running annual fair features agricultural, livestock, and home arts exhibits; horse shows, children’s activities, live music, a large midway with carnival rides and games for all ages, craft and merchandise vendors, a wide selection of great food, grandstand events, free midway entertainment, and so much more!

• Monday – Friday*: 12 noon – 10pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 10am – 10pm
• *Friday, Aug 1st: 5pm – 10pm

• Adults (13-59): $15
• Children (6-12): $5
• Seniors (60+): $10
• Veterans/Active Military: $7

• Mega Passes, good for admission + unlimited rides on any one day of the fair, are $33 for adults and $28 for children 6-12 years old.
• Discounted admission (20% off gate price) can be purchased through July 31st.

🗒️ NJ Carnivals Editor Notes

Essentially the biggest fair in New Jersey with tons to do. One can easily spend an entire day at this fair browsing the exhibits, riding the rides, seeing the shows, eating the food, and so on, and so on. Many animals on display, from cows to rabbits and everything in between. The Sussex County Horse Show also takes place at the fair, so there’s usually equestrian events at the horse rings. Exhibits and competitions like art, photography, quilting, gardening, and the like are on display. Several free shows and musical performances along with grandstand events that typically have a fee. Massive vendor areas with crafters and business exhibitors alike. Large rides midway by Reithoffer Shows, one of the premier carnivals on the East Coast, with probably 40 to 50 rides for all ages. Plenty of free parking on grass lots around the fairgrounds.
