Mark your calendars for the Garfield Recreation Department’s Whole Lotta Empanada Festival on Saturday, April 20th, held at 20th Century Park in Garfield!

With 15 Empanada Vendors competing for the EMPY (People’s Choice Best Empanada) award, along with 8 gourmet food trucks offering an array of tantalizing options including lobster rolls, seafood, Puerto Rican and Mexican cuisine, extravagant shakes, savory chicken, egg rolls, Argentinian BBQ, garlic knot sliders, tacos, delectable desserts, and more, there’s something to satisfy every palate.

Festivities kick off at 11 am with DJ entertainment spinning Latin beats to set the mood. Join professional Latin dancer Christina Pietra at 12 pm for an hour of exhilarating dance lessons featuring Salsa & Bachata. Get ready to move and groove to the sounds of Raphy Castillo y El Sexteto Quisqueya Salsa band and Mr. LoveJoy!

At 2:45pm the festival will host an Empanada eating contest with a cash prize!

Along with food and music, there will be refreshing beverages such as beer, margaritas, and sangria, along with activities including a rock wall, pony rides, petting zoo, inflatables, miniature golf, bungee trampoline, face painting, sand art, and various vendors.

Admission to the festival is $5 per person and free for children under 5 years old.
