4th of July Fireworks and Celebrations in New Jersey 2022

New Jersey has over a hundred Independence Day events in 2022 with many returning after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. Below is a list of festivals, celebrations, carnivals, and fireworks displays in New Jersey this 4th of July.

Events are listed by town in alphabetical order with details on dates (not all are on July 4th), hours, fireworks info, and links containing additional information. Be sure to check the links for last minute details on postponements or rain dates.

  • Atlantic City: July 4th
    • Tropicana will hold an Independence Day fireworks display at 10pm. The fireworks are launched from the beachfront near Tropicana and can be viewed from along the boardwalk.

  • Atlantic City: July 1st
    • Atlantic City’s North Beach will have their Kick-Off to Summer fireworks celebration on July 1st. From 6-9pm there will be live music, activities, and drink specials in the North Beach boardwalk area around Tennessee Ave with fireworks by Grucci to follow at 9:30pm.

  • Buena Vista Twp: July 2nd
    • 32nd Annual Independence Day Celebration. Festivities begin at 11am on Saturday, July 2nd, at Michael Debbi Park. Fire Truck and EMS parade is at 2pm. The festival will have food, children’s activities and bouncy rides, music and DJ entertainment, vendors, and a huge fireworks display at dark.

  • Galloway: July 4th
    • Galloway’s annual 4th of July Parade. Touted as New Jersey’s biggest 4th of July parade, the parade kicks off at 9am at the Galloway shopping center, continues along Smithville Blvd to Moss Mill Rd, ending at Historic Smithville.

  • Margate: July 4th
    • Margate’s annual fireworks take place on the beach at Huntington Ave, and are sponsored by the Margate Mothers’ Association. Fireworks are at approximately 9pm on July 4th.

  • Northfield: July 4th
    • Northfield’s 4th of July Parade will begin at 10am, starting at Jackson Ave & Shore Rd. The parade travels down Shore Road to Mill Rd, before ending at the Burton Avenue Fire Station. Rain date for the parade is Saturday, July 9th.

  • Allendale: July 4th
    • 4th of July activities are held by the Allendale Holiday Observers with daytime events starting at 8:30am at the Recreation Park with field events, contests, and races. During the evening, festivities take place at Crestwood Lake starting at 7:30pm with a concert by the Community Band of Waldwick with fireworks at 9pm (Fireworks are admission by ticket only for Allendale Residents and their guests, see this page for more info.)

  • East Rutherford: July 3rd - July 4th
    • State Fair Meadowlands, the largest fair in New Jersey, will have fireworks on July 3rd & 4th at approximately 10pm each night along with over 100 rides and attractions, free entertainment, a huge selection of food, and more! Admission is $38.99 and includes rides, shows, entertainment, and more!

  • Edgewater: June 30th
    • The borough of Edgewater will hold their Independence Day fireworks on Thursday, June 30th, at Veterans Field. Gates open at 6pm and features food trucks, activities for kids, live music, and fireworks at approximately 9:20pm. Rain date for the fireworks is July 2nd. Parking is limited, so it’s advised to use the free Edgewater Shuttle Bus service.

  • Fair Lawn: July 2nd
    • ✨ Update: Due to the weather forecast, this event has been postponed to Saturday, July 9th.

      Fair Lawn’s Fireworks Show takes place at Memorial Park (Berdan Ave & 1st St) on Saturday, July 2nd. Gates open at 6:45pm and will feature live music by The Shotz, food and drink vendors, and fireworks at approximately 9pm. Admission is required, see the website for details.

  • Hackensack: July 4th
    • Independence Day festivities will be held at Foschini Park on July 4th. The celebration starts at 5pm and features food trucks, family games, music by Fillet of Soul at 7:30pm, and the fireworks spectacular at 9pm.

  • Lyndhurst: July 1st
    • Independence Day festivities take place on July 1st at the Little League Field on Riverside Ave starting at 6pm. The celebration will have a food vendors, novelty vendors, and a patriotic exercise at 8:30pm with the “Gala Fireworks Display” to follow at dusk.

  • Maywood: July 2nd

      Maywood’s Fireworks Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, located at Memorial Park. Festivities begin at 6:30pm featuring live entertainment by Jumpin’ Dragons with fireworks to follow at approximately 9:15pm.

  • Maywood: July 4th
    • Maywood’s 113rd annual Independence Day Parade takes place on Monday, July 4th. The parade steps off at 9am from Orchard Pl & Maywood Ave, travels through downtown on West Pleasant Ave, makes a right on Palmer Ave, and continues to West Fairmount Avenue before ending at Memorial Park where a there will be a ceremony and reading of the Declaration of Independence. The Maywood Rotary Club will collect non-perishable food items along the Parade route for distribution to local food pantries.

  • Paramus: July 3rd - July 4th
    • Independence Day festivities begin on July 3rd with the MegaBite Food Truck Festival from 11am-7pm at Garden State Plaza featuring live music, food trucks, activities for kids, and more (admission required.) Fireworks are held at dusk at the Cliff Gennarelli Sports-Plex with gates opening at 6pm.

      On July 4th, Paramus will have their annual Independence Day Parade at 9am, held along Farview Ave and ending at Petruska Park.

  • Ridgewood: July 4th
    • Ridgewood’s 112th annual 4th of July Celebration begins with a flag raising at 9am at Wilsey Square with a Parade to follow at 10am, starting at Monroe St & Godwin Ave and ending at Northern Pkwy & Meadowbrook Ave. Events move to Veterans Field at 6pm with food trucks, live music, and a spectacular fireworks display by Grucci at approximately 9pm.     • The Borough of Tenafly’s town-wide Independence Day celebration takes place on Saturday, June 25th. Daytime activities are at Roosevelt Commons from 10am-2:30pm with amusements, games, food, and fun! Festivities move to Tenafly High School in the evening with music by Divinity Roxx at 7:30pm and fireworks at approximately 9pm. Rain date for the event is June 26th.

    • Camden County’s Freedom Festival kicks off at 5pm on July 4th at Wiggins Waterfront Park. The festival will feature music by the Tri-County Symphonic Band at 5pm, Travel Lanes at 6pm, and The O’Jays at 8pm with a spectacular fireworks display over the Delaware River to follow at 9:30pm.

On July 4th, the township’s Independence Day Parade kicks off at 11:30am starting at the Municipal Building and ending at Crystal Lake Pool.

    • Events on the July 4th kick off at 7pm with a patriotic concert at Avalon Community Hall featuring the Bay Atlantic Symphony. A huge fireworks display will follow at dusk (approximately 8:45pm) at the 30th Street beach with the fireworks set to music on WCZT 98.7 the Coast.

    • Stone Harbor’s Independence Day fireworks will be on July 4th starting at dusk (approx 9:15pm.) The fireworks are launched from the 95th Street beach and can be viewed from up and down the beachfront. Rain date is July 5th.

    • Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest all have events on July 4th. The day kicks off with the annual Family Parade and Patriotic Pooch Parade starting at 9th & Atlantic Avenues in North Wildwood (registration 8:15am, parade 9am.)

      During the evening, there will be a concert featuring Don’t Call Me Francis at Centennial Park (Fern & Ocean) in Wildwood Crest at 7:30pm.

      The 4th is capped off with a spectacular fireworks display, synchronized to patriotic music, in Wildwood at 10pm. Fireworks are launched from the Pine Ave beach and can be seen along the boardwalk.

    • The city of Millville’s Hometown 4th of July celebration will be held at Union Lake on July 4th. The celebration begins at 5pm with live music, backyard games, pie and watermelon eating contests, and fireworks at dusk.

    • Vineland will host an Independence Day concert and fireworks display on July 4th at Giampietro Memorial Park. The concert begins at 7pm at the Enrico Serra Band Shell featuring Musically Yours and the Rowan College/Cumberland Campus Wind Symphony. Fireworks will be held immediately after the concert at the nearby Vineland High School.

    • Randolph’s annual Freedom Festival will take place at the Community College of Morris from Thursday, June 30th, through Saturday, July 2nd. July 3rd is Lakehurst’s 100th Anniversary Celebration from 2-9pm at Lake Horicon featuring live music, food trucks and local vendors, beer garden, rides & games, raffles, hatchet throwing, and a dazzling fireworks display over the lake at 9pm. Shuttle service for the July 3rd event will be available from the Dollar General parking lot.

    • Jenkinson’s Boardwalk will be hosting a special Independence Day fireworks display on the beach on July 4th. Jenkinson’s also holds fireworks every Thursday night June through August.

    • Blairstown’s Independence Day events begin on July 3rd with the Blairstown Rotary Club’s annual fireworks display at North Warren Regional High School. Fireworks start at around 9pm. Rain date is July 8th.

      On the 4th is the annual Blairstown Fourth celebration held at Footbridge Park from 10:30am – 4:30pm. The event features games, live music, shopping, food, patriotic pet contest, pie eating contest, water balloons, and so much more! The Blairstown’s Rotary will also have their Duck Race at 3:30pm at the park.
